Article Marketing-Both Sides of the Fence

Article Marketing-Both Sides of the Fence

Word Count:
609

Summary:
I have been submitting articles to article sites for quite a while now – both manually and with the use of a submitter.  I also have 6 article sites and accept auto-submitted articles to 4 blogs.  So, I understand submission guidelines from both perspectives.

Keywords:
articles, article, write, links, subject, site, check, word, author's resource, author's, domain, sites, resource

Article Body:
Every site has its own set of guidelines – but I think if you adhere to the following – more of your articles will get published.  It is best to check each site's set of rules (but who has the time) or follow this basic set of do's and don'ts.

1. Do submit articles on a regular basis
2. Do capitalize the first letter of every word in the subject line
3. Do check the spelling and grammar – and then check it again
4. Do write original articles about topics you have a passion for
5. Do write articles that are about 400-800 characters in length – too short and too long will be rejected
6. Do write an article – not a blatant advertisement
7. Do check the paragraph formatting
8. Do write an informative Author's resource box
9. Do use HTML tags (if allowed) – I would demonstrate an example of a proper link – but most likely it would cause the article to be declined.  Just Google HTML link to see how to do it correctly

1. Don't capitalize every letter in the subject line
2. Don't bold the subject or your links
3. Don't submit more than 2 links in the author's resource box
4. Don't put links in the text of the article
5. Don't cloak links – do it legally to get links back to your site
6. Don't write an ad – write an article (I know – I already said this above)

Here are some general recommendations:
1. Get a real domain – it is much more acceptable and professional than blogspot, angelfire, or any of the other free site places.  If you want to have a blog – get a domain and use wordpress – the domain will cost all of about 8 dollars per year and hosting can be had for under $5 per year.
2. Use an autosubmitter.  There are free and paid services – either way – your article(s) will be at hundreds or thousands of sites instead of one or two.  Be advised that some article sites don't accept articles submitted by autosubmitters – but they are in the minority.
3. Visit your articles.  Many article sites will send you an email that tells you that your article has been submitted.  Go and look and make sure it looks OK, the link(s) are correct and then vote for it and if the site has social bookmarks – bookmark it.
4. If you use Private Label Rights (PLR) articles – change them – make them different so that they are not the same as a bazillion other articles online.
5. Check the sites' guidelines – some don't accept gambling articles, sexually oriented articles, etc.  Some will even decline your article if it doesn't pass their internal word search.  I have had some declined for using the word "sex" or "marijuana" in the article.  Even though the "sex" article was health related and the "marijuana" article was a travel advice article informing travelers not to smuggle drugs.  Sometimes you can't win.
6. Don't get frustrated.  It can take time for the articles to get indexed in the search engines and it can take time for the article site owners to approve your articles.  Just keep plugging away and it will pay off.
7. Quality is better than quantity.  Just cranking out crap articles daily is not as good as writing 2 or 3 good articles every week.
8. Take time with the subject.  If the subject is boring – most likely the article will not get read.  Be creative.
9. Write 2 or 3 sentences in the Author's resource box.  Tell us about yourself and why you are the expert on this topic or why we should click your link.

Hopefully this helps you in getting more of your articles published.

Article Body:
You've been writing great articles for your website or blog, keyword rich, insightful pieces that should be studied in marketing classes. You've probably seen an increase in site traffic since you started writing using SEO. But there's another way to use the articles that you're already writing to boost traffic even more.

Publish them on other sites.

It's simple math. Your site receives 200 hits a day. Site B receives 500. If you get an article published on Site B, your site and marketing links are exposed to 700 people.

Unfortunately, this can be easier said than done. You have to convince the editor or webmaster of Site B that your article is more worthy of publication than Joe Schmoe's about the same subject. If you think you can, then you are all set to start your very own article marketing campaign and boost traffic to your site. Here're some hints to sell articles for your article marketing campaign.

ARTICLE MARKETING STARTS WITH THE E-MAIL TO A PUBLISHER SITE

E-mail has become one of those quick forms of communication. We type them out real quick, using the first words and phrases that come to mind, and then send them off without a second thought, like leaving a voicemail. But in the case of article marketing (and everything else you use e-mail for), the e-mail is the first writing sample a buyer will read. If your e-mail is not professional and well written, there is no reason for a buyer to move onto the actual article. You will have failed the ever important first impression.

This is a failure that can be avoided by taking the time to edit the e-mail. Make sure that there are no grammatical mistakes, that your sentences make sense, and that you don't have more words necessary. Other things like making sure the subject line is eye catching or addressing the e-mail to a specific person instead of a company or a "To Whom It May Concern" can make your article stand out in the crowd.

MARKET ARTICLES TO THE APPROPRIATE SITES

This one sounds like a no brainer, but at least now you can't say nobody told you. Make sure that you send your articles to places that will actually publish them. This obviously applies to content (don't send an article about high New York Society to a Mountain Climber's website), but this also applies to style and voice and things like that. If you're an edgy, sarcastic writer, you probably don't want to be submitting to a serious, boring site. They simply won't publish your article, and your article marketing campaign will be a waste.

Also, don't just write an article and then try to get it published. This method might produce some results, but they will be few and far between and will require a lot of time and selling. Instead, write your articles with a specific site in mind. Go and read other articles on the site. Know the voice and structure of the already published articles. Review the submissions guidelines. Be familiar with policies. In the e-mail, include reasons that your article is a perfect match for their site. An article written with purpose for a specific site or group of sites will be more successful than one written without a destination in mind.

GRAMMAR, GRAMMAR, GRAMMAR

The whole point of article marketing is to convince people to click on the link to your site that you've included in your byline. You will lose a lot of credibility if your article is full of grammatical mistakes and poorly thought out sentences. Write several drafts of your articles. Make sure you're saying what you mean. Once your article is perfect, have someone else read it to make sure you're not blind. You'd be amazed what you miss in your own writing, even if you're a professional editor. Doing this will A. Make editors more likely to accept your work and B. Give the reader the impression that you are professional, which will in turn make them try to find out what else you have to say.

REFER BACK TO YOUR OTHER ARTICLE WITH LINKS

If you can, include links in the body of your e-mail that will lead back to your site. After all, that is the entire point of article marketing. A good way to do this is to refer to an article that you've written in the past that is 'coincidentally' posted only on your website. People like more information, and if you tell them there is more on another site, chances are that they'll go there, and you just got another hit.

Be careful not to overuse this technique. Too many links will make them commonplace and readers won't notice them. Including one or two makes them special and probably worthwhile. Also, don't link to irrelevant articles. Readers will just get annoyed and not browse around your site. The object of article marketing is to get people exploring your site. If they wind up at a random article, they'll just close the window and go back to what they were reading, instead of stumbling across your affiliate marketing links.

SIGN YOUR WORK

Don't ever forget about the signature or byline at the end of your article. This should include your name, of course, but also a link directly to your site's homepage. You might also consider linking to a few related articles that are posted on your site. Anyone who enjoyed the article will take the time to see who wrote it and what their background or own personal ventures are, and chances are, they'll click on the link to read more by you. The signature section is the climax of your article marketing campaign. It is where you are trying to guide readers with your article so they will see your links and visit your site and make you money. It's that simple.

Article Marketing Tips

I have been writing articles and submitting them to various article directories for around a year now. When I started I felt very fresh and had plenty to write about. After a few months however, I started to get what is known as writers block. I could not think of anything else to write about. In this article I give advice about how to react when this happens, advice which I hope will help you to continue to write quality and original articles.

My name is Steve Hill and my line of business is as a speech coach. I developed a stutter when I was four years of age and it continued to affect my life for the next eighteen years. I have managed to overcome this speech impediment and as a career I now help other people to achieve fluency. I feel I know quite a lot about the subject and found it quite easy and enjoyable to write about all aspects of stuttering.

After a while I could not think of anything new to write about stuttering, which would be of value to people and made the mistake or re-writing some of the articles using different words. I must admit I was unaware that this was against the rules but now realise that each article needs to have original content, which I accept and understand.

I then wrote about some of the experiences from my own life, like how I coped when my now ex-girlfriend left me and even stories about my dog! A number of people have read these articles and have sent me some very nice e-mails stating how much they have enjoyed them.

One morning I woke up with very good intentions, I was planning on writing three or four new articles. I turned on the computer and basically sat there. Come on write something, I tried to tell myself. The problem was that I could not think of anything to write about. I decided to go back to bed. I seem to be able to think clearer from my bed, a bit weird I know.

I decided that I was not only going to write about my own life and experiences but I would also write about my family and friends. Other areas I could write about would be:

How to promote a website

Web design

Self confidence

Travel

World affairs

Sport

Exercise

Weight loss

Stress management

Anger management

Business

These are all areas I have a great interest in and even though they are not my main line of business, the articles should be of interest to people. Most of the topics which I have listed are things which I or people I know, have had experiences with. For example a lot of people who stutter including myself in the past, have issues with their self-confidence.

Weight loss is subject which is close to my heart as I have had many problems in controlling my own weight. I also run my own business and therefore have had to learn aspects about how to do this.

I also love playing and watching sport. This was therefore something else which I then concentrated on and I have now written articles on snooker and football.

To gain inspiration and to help me to write my articles, I read a lot of books and newspapers and I also like to watch the news and current affairs programs on the television.

I hope this article has been of help to you and please feel free to read and re-print more of the articles I have written.

Article Marketing Strategies: Selecting The Best Sites & Ezines For Your Article Marketing Campaign

Article Marketing Strategies: Selecting The Best Sites & Ezines For Your Article Marketing Campaign

Summary:
Writing and marketing articles online is probably the most effective, most cost-effective way to publicize your website, and promote your products and services online. Articles found only on the website and not in their print publications means more opportunities for writers and experts.

Article Body:
Writing and marketing articles online is probably the most effective, most cost-effective way to publicize your website, and promote your products and services online. The Web is a printing press with an insatiable appetite for articles written by experts. There are literally millions of websites and ezines that are begging for good articles. They want people to submit good articles to them. They even search sites on the web for permission to use articles.

So, how do you know which sites to select?

Through my years of experience, and many conversations with the top Internet Marketers, in order to have the greatest impact, you need to use a 3-tiered article marketing approach targeting:

1. The major article directories 2. Smaller niche directory sites that are related to your content
3. Niche ezine and website publishers who need and want quality related content that will add value to their website or email newsletter audience

My consulting clients ask me many times, " What is the best way to find ezines and websites that are the most read so my article gets the most exposure?" That should not be the first question you ask yourself. Yes, you do want to find websites that are highly visited and ezines that are the most read – but more importantly, you want to focus on finding websites and ezine publishers within your specific niche that have strong emotional connections to their audience.

Most likely, you are already visiting their websites or subscribing to their ezines. If you don't know who has a great ezine related to your industry niche, there are plenty of ezine directories like bestezines.com on the net that can guide you.

Other strategies include:

- Research your competitors – where are there articles being published?

- Perform a Google search. Just type in your industry or article topic followed by the words article submission. That's how I helped our client's book jump to the #2 spot on the NY Times Best Sellers List. I typed into Google, "health article submissions", "medical article submissions", and "thyroid dysfunctions article submissions" and discovered (among many other sites) the contact information for an About.com editor – one of the top 50 sites on the net today. After receiving the submission, the editor blasted an email book promotion to her entire list, giving Mark Hyman MD 1500 additional opt-in subscribers and much higher sales in just one day.

- Think about which organizations, your audience may belong to. If you're a sales lead expert, like our client, Mac McIntosh, then the chances of your audience belonging to an organization such as the American Marketing Association are very, very high. With more than 200,000 registered users and more than 2 million visits each year from a wide range of influential decision makers, Mac McIntosh's soon to be published article on the American Marketing Association's website will provide him with an excellent opportunity to connect with the marketing community.

- And, don't forget to check sites for magazines within your niche. More and more publications, are looking for fresh, new content for their website, to drive traffic up in order to sell more print magazines in the long run. This constant updating of articles found only on the website and not in their print publications means more opportunities for writers and experts. An article written by you published on sites like Entrepreneur Magazine and Mothering Magazine will give your company the vast amount of exposure and credibility it needs.

Follow these strategies and you will have a sound article marketing campaign.

Believe me. This is what some of the pros have been keeping it to themselves. Now that I'm letting the gems out, you can steal their secrets and take advantage of this opportunity.

As of today, there are probably more than 500 article directories on the Internet and the number is still counting.

This is good news.

This is also bad news.

The good news is that you can have your articles deposited into hundreds of article directories and build a lot of backlinks to your website easily. Your website hit counter will spin. Your revenue will increase.

The bad news is that it can take a few days just to finish submitting one article to those directories. What if you have 10 more articles to be submitted?

Remember that we're not talking about submitting to only 10 or 20 directories. We're talking about submitting to hundreds of them.

By the time you're done submitting your articles, you'd swear not to do article marketing anymore. The huge amount of time it takes to submit your articles to those numerous directories is killing you.

If I were you, I'd give up too.

Fortunately, for every problem there's a brilliant solution.

Quietly, a few net entrepreneurs are creating tools and services to automatically submit articles to hundreds of article directories. With a few simple cut-and-pastes and a click of a button, you can have your articles submitted to hundreds of article directories and thousands of online publishers.

All these article directory submissions can be done even while you sleep. Isn't it nice?

All right, I hear you loud. Where can I find these tools and services?

Before I tell you more, let me say that most of these resources are not free. They can cost you from ten to over one hundred dollars, but if you're serious about marketing your articles, in the long run, you'll definitely get back your investments many folds.

Of course, there are other free tools and services too. I will let you know them as well.

Here they are.

Free and Free with Paid Options

Search Warp – publish your articles on Search Warp directory and, at the same time, submit them to search engines, such as Google, ExactSeek and Alexa. Search Warp is a directory and also a search engine. It is a free service.

Article Marketer – An article submission service from FREE to $119.95, depending on the Low, Medium and High Volume Plans.

Paid Services and Tools

Article Announcer – An article submission software for the price of $379 plus shipping. It comes with a complete set of Article Marketing audio CDs. Lots of information from this package.

Article Submitter Pro – An article submission software for the price of $167, with bonus ebooks on article writing, press release and more.

The Phantom Writers – An article submission service with the price range of $35 to $200, depending on the number of articles submitted. They also provide ghostwriting service.

iSnare – An article submission service with the price range of $10 to $719.40, depending on the number of articles submitted. Current distribution is over 20,000 publishers.

Submit Your Article – You can submit up to 4 articles a month for the current low price of $37.00 per month.

As you can see above, different parties charge different rates and prices. This does not mean that you should go for the lowest price or immediately assume that the highest charge will provide better results.

You have to carefully analyze the data above and ask yourself – which one has the right budget for you and the right audience you want to reach. Then decide.

And, much much more.

But, wait a minute.

"I can't write. How can I submit my articles if I don't even have one written?"

If this does not describe you and you're already writing good articles on your own, then what are you waiting for?

Start publishing your own articles now.

If you belong to this "can't write a single word" category, then stay with me here.

I don't blame you for it but I believe this is a problem that can be fixed. I used to have no idea to write at all, but I knew my problem was because I was trying to write about something I didn't know.

It's a bit confusing but let me rephrase. Find something that you know a great deal about and if you are passionate enough about the topic, your juice will flow like water. Your head will generate more ideas than your writing speed can catch up.

For further help on writing an article, here are a few tips.

1. Enumerate your points, like what I'm doing now. A 500-word article can have 7 or 10 short points in it.

2. Look at some other articles of the same interest. Model (not copy) the writing skills of others.

3. Write your articles like writing stories. Writing your own experience sometimes help.

4. Write like you talk. Forget about grammar in your first round of writing. Go back to the article and fix your mistakes once the article is finished.

5. Write, write and write. Nothing helps more than practice. Your first article won't be good, but the second one will be better. The hundredth article will be much better than the 50th. So, write more.

Still stuck with writer's block? Then, I suggest two ways to get around.

1. Hire ghostwriters to write exclusively for you.

Ghostwriters are authors who will write on your behalf on any topics that you assign them. They'll charge you for their service.

When the articles are complete, they are yours to keep. You can claim the authorship of the articles, put your name on these articles and often, claim the copyrights of the articles too.

Many Internet marketers are doing it simply because they don't have time to write or they don't have any expertise on the topics that they want to write.

2. Join private label article membership clubs.

For less than thirty dollars a month, you can get tons of contents which you can private label them with your own name.

But, be very careful because article directory owners don't like duplicate contents in their databases. Make sure you modify the content of each article before you submit them to any article directory. You don't want your name to get banned by these article directories.

On a special note, majority of private label rights operators put a cap on their membership sites. As soon as they have enough members, you won't be allowed to join them until the existing members cancel their membership.

The two methods of creating your own articles above are definitely meant to help you get going. After having your articles in your hand, like most people say, the world is your oyster.

Since the beginning, you've been told that "Content Is King" but there are so many website owners - who have been trying to win the search engine battles - ignore the rules and try to be 'smart'. They used software and tools to trick the search engines to get their websites indexed highly but only to find out that their websites were banned a month later.

Don't get me wrong! There are actually some legitimate tools that can help you get your websites ranked higher. People pay a hundred dollars or more just to own them. That is fine as long as it works and does not violate the criteria search engines are looking for on a website.

But why are they doing it?

For an obvious reason, I guess - to get as much traffic possible to their websites, which in turn produces more revenue to the website owners.

And then, there are really smart marketers who go by the "Content Is King" rules and are really winning the search engine games day by day. These marketers use words to turn into traffic. With a single 500-word article, within time, they can create hundreds of backlinks to their websites – resulting in more web traffic, more sales, and more profits. Then, they write one more article, and some more.

That's right – we call them article marketers. You can see their names when you search a keyword and their articles appear on the main page of the search engine. You click on the links and their articles come up.

Now let me tell you a little secret. These marketers don't write these articles and post them only on their websites.

First, they write these articles and at the same time allow others to reprint them for free. That makes you able to forward these articles to other people and these other people can also forward to more people provided the content of the articles are not changed or modified. In short, these articles are viral.

Second, they submit these articles to various article directories and online publishers to get maximum exposure. The more publishers they can find, the more audience they can reach. Thus, the more sales they can make.

Think about it. If the pros are doing it and they are getting tons of traffic and sales, then you too can have the same privilege - only if you follow their steps.

Wouldn't you want to generate sales without having to pay a single red cent?

If the answer is a resounding 'yes', then consider article marketing seriously.

By now everyone has heard of article marketing and so many people out define it in so many different ways there that it has become hard for people new to article marketing to understand.

First of all, most of the SEO Gurus caught on to article marketing late in the game, then scrambled to create their own definitions of it at the last minute so it didn't appear they were ever not aware of the power of article marketing.

In general, article marketing is where you write an article on a topic that is related to your website topic. Not a promotional article for your website, but an article about something that is informative to the reader. In the article you use keywords and phrases that relate to your topic as well, much like you would optimize a webpage. Your article when reprinted will be the text of a webpage or webpages.

In the author bio section at the bottom is some info about you and links to your website. It is suggested that you put in one link to your main page and one to an interior page that fits the article you are writing.

If your article is submitted to websites that take article submissions and offers free content to webmasters, then webmasters choose to repost your article on their websites, the links in the author bio section become links from their websites to your website.

Now lets go on to the myths and facts about article marketing.

MYTH: Article marketing doesn't really help you all that much.

FACT: Article Marketing can help you increase your link popularity and be a source of some of the most targeted traffic you can get.

MYTH: Reprinted Articles only get indexed as supplemental pages, therefore it doesn't help enough to make it worthwhile.

FACT: Depending on where the article gets submitted to, the article itself can get a top 10 listing in major search engines and not as a supplemental page.

MYTH: Submitting your article everywhere creates duplicate content and the search engines will punish or discount those pages as a result.

FACT: If search engines punished duplicate content in the way that myth suggests then all rss feeds that cause a post in a blog to be reproduced to be discounted or published and they are not. The New York Times articles and CNN stuff is blasted all over the web and are not punished or discounted.

Duplicate content is two webpages that are around 70% similar, not two webpages that have similar text on them.

MYTH: The only way article marketing works is you write an article then submit it to thousands of article submission websites.

FACT: There is more than one way to make article marketing work for you. The way mentioned above works okay if you are looking to get a lot of links back to your website whether they are related or not and can be effective if you currently have very little or no link popularity at all.

Another way is to hand submit your article to article submission websites that only accept articles related to your topic. This is more difficult but the links help you more just through the submissions and it's more likely that the websites that pick up and repost your article will be also related to your topic which can help you with better links and targeted traffic.

Yet another way is to write a very high quality article that you really take your time on and research. You then choose a very high traffic website related to your topic. One that has great PR and a lot of visitors.

Email them your article and offer them an exclusive if they will print your article with your links included in the bio. If your article is of good quality and they get an exclusive you have a good chance they will post your article there.

This one posting of your article can be more powerful than the mass submitted article method if you choose the website you submit it to carefully.

Last but not least, posting your article exclusively on your own website is a great way to add fresh content and if the article is good, people will link directly to the article increasing both traffic and PR for your webpage where you posted the article. But for this to work you need to already have some traffic to work with.

MYTH: You should always post your article in your website first, then wait to get crawled by the search engines before submitting the article elsewhere.

FACT: Adding articles to your own website is called adding content. Submitting those articles to other websites is called article marketing. With article marketing you don't want the article indexed on your website first.

Yes you read that right. You do not want the article indexed on your website first. You are or should already be doing SEO on your website and adding fresh content to your website for the search engines to get traffic from them.

Submitting articles to other websites and having the search engines find it there first gives another gateway that people can find your website through.

If the websites that you submitted your articles to get crawled often, then having your article appear there with the links intact will get your website crawled as well.

If the websites you submitted your article to are getting indexed well by the search engines, then your article being found on their website first might get it in the top 10 results.

Placing it into your own website with no or low PR might not have gotten the article indexed at all.

I hope this article will clear up some of the myths about article marketing and that it has helped you understand how and why it works.

Article Marketing Just Got Easier For Content Publishers Thanks To RSS Syndication Technology

Article Marketing Just Got Easier For Content Publishers Thanks To RSS Syndication Technology

This article explains how RSS Syndication combined with Article Marketing can send you thousands of FREE targeted visitors to website of choice.

Article Body:
Copyright 2006 The IWE, LLC. All Rights Reserved.

RSS(Real Simple Syndication) is the BIG... Buzz around the Internet these days because of its Powerful ability to syndicate content Effortlessly and Instantly across the Internet to any website and/or subscriber who subscribed to that particular RSS Feed with a 100% GUARANTEED delivery.

What other technology online can guarantee you that?

Email? I don't think so.

RSS is it... Period!

And the crazy thing is, everybody who publishes content on their website on a regular basis is quickly adapting because of the many benefits RSS offers because lets face it, updating content manually on any given website is a very time consuming task, especially when you have to do it on a Day In and Day Out basis.

But, by having an RSS enabled website, not only do you get high quality content INSTANTLY delivered, you can now give your audience more content with less work on your part leaving you more time to focus on other important tasks you might have sitting on the back burner when you have time.

This is the main benefit RSS Syndication gives the website owner and/or valued subscriber.

Now that you have some idea of how RSS can simplify updating content on any given website, what does this have to do with Article Marketing and how does it benefit the content publisher who writes the articles?

Well... lets talk about it.

We all know that content is the life blood of the Internet and is why most people come online... right?

We also know that RSS syndicates content to whatever website that is RSS enabled and/or subscriber who uses an RSS aggregator.

The BIG question that's probably floating around in your head is... how do Article Publishers who write the articles benefit from RSS Syndication?

The answer is simple really.

Ever heard the phrase... "The Internet Is Nothing More Then A Numbers Game"?

If not, now you have and that is exactly what RSS Syndication will do for anybody who does or is just starting out can expect to benefit from by joining the Article Marketing game.

Let's talk about this a little more so it's clear in your mind.

Let's say you write your first article and your manage to locate, lets say... 20 Article Directories that offer FREE Article Submissions and offer RSS Feeds to website owners and to the general public to use.

And lets say that those 20 Article Directories collected all their RSS Feeds and submitted them to all the TOP RSS Directories on the web so that website owners and/or people with RSS Aggregators can locate those RSS Feeds so they can subscribe to them.

You with me so far?

Now, you go and submit your article to all 20 Article Directories and wait for their reply to see if your article got accepted.

You check your Inbox and find that all 20 article directories accepted your article into their database and would be syndicating it within the next 24 hours.

Notice I said the word "syndicating". That's because once your article is approved by that article directory and because these article directories use RSS technology to syndicate NEW content to whoever is subscribed, guess what happens to your article?

It gets syndicated to whoever is subscribed to that RSS Feed. So if you submitted to all 20 article directories under whatever category, and there were 200 subscribers per article directory subscribed to that RSS Feed, guess how many potential customers you will possibly come in contact with through your articles Resource Box?

Lets do the math... how's 4000 potential subscribers, which means you have a potential of receiving 4000 potential visitors to your website of choice... Absolutely FREE!

That's the power of RSS Syndication and is WHY article marketing is becoming one of the #1 ways to promote ANY website online.

I wrote this article just as a quick example of what RSS Technology can do for anyone using it on their websites and for those who use articles as part of their website promotion strategy so you can see how RSS will get your articles more exposure with NO extra work on your part.

I truly hope you see the benefits I outlined within this article and hope you take the neccessary steps to getting started with writing your own articles, if your not already, so you too can benefit from RSS Syndication like everyone else.

So... with that said, what are you waiting for?

You won't know how successful you can be with submitting articles unless you at least try it.  Write an article.  The first ones always take more time but that changes with experience.  If the article is good you are on your way.

Now comes the submitting.  Try doing this yourself and see how it works.  Do you have the time it will take?  Are you willing to put in that much time?  If the answers are no, are you willing to pay a submission service to do this part for you?  The answers to this will help you decide if this method is for you.

There are three things that assist a website in being successful, popularity, navigation, and content. Navigation is in the

hands of the Webmaster. Whereas popularity and content is the responsibility of the website owner. Article marketing helps

these last to two to excel. The internet is controlled by search engines and they are information junkies. And like any

junkie they are forever in pursuit of a new fix. Knowing how to take an article and distribute it to your advantage

is a present day necessity. Because when a search engine gets high on some content it rewards its owner by promoting a

websites ranking which generates the ever welcome organic (free) traffic. And traffic is the life supporting blood of

internet prosperity.

Article marketing needs obviously articles to operate. Unlike articles one might find in newsstands and magazines internet

content has specific requirements to have any real value. Since search engines locate information requests from internet

users by using a system utilizing keywords internet articles must incorporate keywords into the body of written content.

Understanding how to create articles with the proper amount of keyword density is not accidental. If one has not taken the

time to research this needed article marketing requirement they should seriously consider hiring professional writers to

accumulate needed content. Placing articles void of this keyword density necessity on their websites or to Article

directory's do so in vain.

One key components of article marketing is the submitting of content to Article Directories. There are hundreds if not

thousands of these type of directories on the internet. These directories act as a source for website owners to find fresh

content for their own websites or newsletter. The more directories one submits there articles to the more exposure a website

gets. Search engines favor large sites when indexing. By having an article in directories the search engines will visit

your website more frequently. And if the content pleases the expectations of the search engines it will improve where you

rank with other websites promoting the same services or products.

When submitting to Article Directory's each article is usually allowed to include an author's resource box. This resource

box is another important area to understand to make article marketing meaningful. The resource box allows the reader to

know who wrote the article and how to find them if so desired. Because of copy write laws it must be included anywhere the

article is placed on the internet. In this resource box an anchor texted URL is placed in it which not only makes it easy

for the reader to click to your site but when placed on another website creates a back link. As the article is used more

and more on the internet these back links start to increase the popularity of a website. At least thats how the search

engines will register these numerous locations. When submitting articles to directories be sure to use different formats.

Experiment to see which type of format is generating clicks. Good article marketing requires intelligent labor.

To run a successful article marketing campaign one must be consistent and quality conscious. When you first start a

campaign consider submitting at least one article a day. This will quickly increase back links. After the first month

you can slow down a bit but never stop. Article marketing succeeds because of its creating a viral effect. It behaves like

the well known pyramid game. An article once it spreads starts to create back links in an ongoing exponential fashion.

However, the more it appears the less value it has with the search engines. Nevertheless even though its value for improving

search engine ranking diminishes it still grows in value for generating traffic. Another thing to be sure to do is proof

read the articles before submitting them. Good article marketing needs good grammar too. The better your article appears the

more credibility it will get. And the more credible the more readers will trust the source.

Article marketing can be very time consuming because you will want to spread your articles to as many article directories

as possible this will suck up a lot of time. This dilemma can be resolved a couple of ways. One way is to engage the services

of businesses that specialize in doing this for you. This will save you time but many of these services ,the better ones, can

be pricey. Another way is to purchase software that is designed to submit articles. Normally they have hundreds of

directories catalogued in there application. Many directories have automated receiving plug-ins that will automatically except

submissions. However, many don't allow automatic submission from software devices. So mix it up. Submit your articles to the

major directories personally then use the software to contact the rest. Regardless of how you decide to run your article

marketing efforts be sure you do it. Article marketing is a time proven benefit to engage in if you wish to increase traffic

to a website. And we all know another word for traffic is Money. The more traffic your article marketing generates is the more

money you'll be stuffing in your virtual pockets.

Writing articles as I am sure many of you know is a very popular way of increasing the amount of backward links that you have pointing to your site. In theory, the more of these backward links we are able to obtain, the more traffic our site should receive. There are however some very important things to take into consideration when writing and submitting your articles as you do not want to be wasting your time and you do not want your site to get dropped by the major search engines or put in some sort of sandbox.

The first thing to remember is that Rome was not built in a day. What I mean is if you have a new website, about for example hair loss, you may want to reach the top ten in Google for your keywords within say six months. You hear that one way to do this is by building up good number of backward links to this hair site. You think that the more the merrier and start pounding out one article after the other and are very proud of yourself after the first month because you were able to write fifty articles all pointing to your new hair website.

I believe this approach to be totally wrong. The hair loss websites which are in the top ten of Google have probably been around for quite a number of years and will without doubt have a number of quality backward links. If your site sticks around for a long time and you continue to build up its backward links it will go higher and higher in the search engines over time.

The one thing you do not want to do is to raise any red flags with the search engines. A new site which has eight hundred backward links after one month could raise this red flag. The search engines will now probably not trust this site and could easily put it in some sort of sandbox until it decides whether it is kosha or not.

In my opinion it is important to build up the number of backward links to a new website fairly slowly. When writing articles, I would personally only write one article with a link to a new website per week. Of course if you have ten websites, you are able to write ten articles if you only decide to have one link on each article etc.

I also think that it is very worthwhile to only submit the same article to around five or six of the different article directories. I would submit the article in total to around twenty-two article directories but would have around four variations of it etc. The differences in each article are not massive but are big enough to make it more original. There is a big thing being debated at the moment in webmaster circles about the potential damage that can be caused by duplicate content. From what I have read, everybody seems to have a different opinion on this subject. My opinion is that it is better to be safe than sorry, therefore why take the risk? It would be good however if the major search engines could clarify their position on the subject, but lets face it, that is never going to happen.

In conclusion, my advice is to enjoy writing articles, have patience, build up the number of backward links slowly and to submit different variations of the same article to the directories.

Lots of people have heard about article marketing but do not really understand what it is. There are different ways article marketing can be used to help you.

Writing an informative article about something that is related to your website content, service, or product, then mass submitting it to article submission or free content websites.

Because of the links in your author bio section or footer of the article, every article directory you submit to is linking back to you. While this creates a lot of one-way inbound links, you have to remember that those websites are not likely to be related to your product, service or website content.

In addition to that, those article directories also link to thousands of websites. Even on the page where your article appears in their site, it's likely that many other links accompany your links on the same page, further diminishing the value of those links.

It is worth the effort. Those inbound links will definitely not hurt you and will help some, but the goal of submitting your article to all of those article directories is so that other Webmasters and Bloggers can find your articles.

Whenever a webmaster or Blogger uses your article in a website or Blog that is related to your content, product or service, then you are accomplishing a lot. Those are valuable one-way inbound links and will carry weight with search engines like Google.

Writing exclusive articles for high-traffic websites.

This is another way you can use article marketing to enhance your search engine rankings and link popularity as well as get traffic directly from those who read your article.

For this, you really need to polish your writing style. You need to write an informative article that is grammatically correct first of all. It needs to be 500 - 700 words.

You need to provide references for your facts and acknowledged quotes to support your theories or opinions. It will also help you illustrate that the information is correct. These types of articles require more research because they need to be accurate.

Once you have your article written, offer it as an exclusive article to just one high-traffic website where their topic is related to your content, products, or services. This article will be seen by many if it is accepted and you will see a direct result in the amount of traffic you get from just one article submitted to just one website.

I will offer one last way to use article marketing effectively. Writing the article as you would an exclusive article as mentioned above for another website and putting it into your own website.

Once you have the article written and posted into your website, take the link directly to the article page and start posting in forums and commenting on blogs that are related to the topic of your article. Use the link to that article page in your sig. line or as a reference if you find people discussing exactly what your article explains.

By using the article to help others, you will find they will want to see what else you have at your website. By linking it in your sig. line, you also increase link popularity for that page and for your website. Make sure that the rest of your website is linked from the page you put the article into and it can even help your website get crawled by the search engine spiders.

First let me explain article marketing for those that do not know what it is. Lets say your website is about widgets. You write an article on interesting ways people can use widgets.

In the footer of your article there is an author bio section. In the author bio section you place links to your website about widgets.

You submit that article to as many article directories as possible.  ISnare.com who for two dollars per article will submit your article to hundreds of article directories.

Once you submit to all of those directories, remember the link in the author bio section, each of those directories is now a one-way inbound link.

Now none of those links is related to widgets, so they are not relative links, but they do still count for link popularity, just not as much as relative links do.

But the second reason that article directories exist is to provide free content to website owners. These website owners can take your article and use it as content for their website as long as they leave the links in the author bio section active and intact.

Article Marketing Doesn't Work. That is exactly what some old-time experienced SEO people are still saying. Yet, one of the clients I wrote articles for went from a link popularity of 1 to a link popularity of 457 in 8 days.

I received an email today from a client I wrote an article for on "Free Credit Repair" 3 days ago. He did a search in Google today for "Free Credit Repair" and the article was in the top 100. Tough category, but it was written 3 days ago and appears in Google for his search term with links to his website.

I can continue to provide dozens of examples where article marketing works and works fast. Once those articles are picked up by other websites besides the article directories, the real benefit comes.

Those websites that pick up and use the widget articles as content for their websites would not use the article if it were not related to their own topic, which means related to widgets in this case. That means relative one-way inbound links for your website.

If you have no use for quick link popularity and relative one-way inbound links to your website, then article marketing is not for you.

Are you searching for a method to promote your website or business? If so, read on to discover a website promotion method that costs virtually nothing to implement.

Article writing provides you with an excellent method of increasing the PR (page rank) of your website. The only expense to you is a little time to write short, informative articles that have value to others.

The articles you have written can then be submitted to some of the best article directories such as Articledashboard.com, ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, isnare.com, and articlealley.com

Article marketing is a great way to increase the flow of traffic and visitors to your website. If you are a business person and have a website, you may have heard the term SEO or search engine optimization. Article marketing is a very effective way to promote your business or website.

In simple terms SEO uses tactics such as keyword optimization to achieve a better placing in the search engines, resulting in more visitors and hopefully more sales for your business. Google operates a site ranking system commonly known as page rank. Page rank is partially based on the quality of your website content but also looks at how many other sites are "back linking" to your website. A website with more back links should hold a better search engine placement and in turn receive more visitors.

Once you have written your articles, make a list of article directories where you wish to submit your articles. Most directories will ask you to create a free account before articles can be submitted. Once you have your accounts in place, you can begin your article submission. Article directories must approve your submitted articles before adding them to the article directory.

Try to make your article interesting, factual and useful to others. Do not just write a 300 word advert for your company or service as it will most likely be declined. Make sure the title of your article accurately describes the content of the article and contains keywords associated with your subject. Layout the article in short paragraphs, do not bunch all the text together as it looks terrible and web users will rarely read large sections of text.

It is a known fact that web users have a very short attention span and tend to skim over large sections of text, so make it easy on the eye and easy to read. Most article directories provide a resource box into which you can place your name, a little information about you or your business and - this is the important bit - a hyperlink to your own website. This link creates the back link to your site and will help to improve both visitor numbers and search engine placement. The more back links you have, the more traffic you will receive. Do not link directly to affiliate sites as they will usually be declined, instead link to your own site and include your affiliate links there.

Ever wondered how internet marketing worked? How does anybody who is into internet marketing inform his potential customers that he exists? And how do customers who are looking for something specific, know where to look for it? Given the sheer profusion of pages on the internet, this can be a herculean task for both the buyer as well as the seller.

Internet marketing is all about catching the 'eye of the spider'. 'Spiders' are ingenious little devices that search all the pages of the World Wide Web looking for those pages that are most relevant to the search term that the internet user has entered. Not only do spiders find the appropriate pages, but they also rank these pages in order of relevance, making it easier for the user to find what he is looking for. Goes without saying, anybody looking for something would first click on the page that is right on top of the list. If he finds what he is looking for, that's it- he looks no further. It is only if he does not find what he wants that he will then go down the list of pages that the spiders have ranked in decreasing order of relevance. The key then, is to make sure your website is ranked right up there above all others that have the same keyword.

Here are a few tips on how you can use article marketing to catch the eye of that all-important spider and get your website ranked right up there, where it can be seen by millions of users.

Make sure your article content is original

Spiders never forget! They memorize every article they have ever crawled over. If they come across a similar article during subsequent searches they immediately pick it out as a plagiarized copy. Instead of the brownie points you would expect to win for featuring valuable content on your web site, your web site would get penalized for featuring copied content. It is critical to make sure that your article content is always original.

Post your original articles on your own website first

By posting your original content on your own website before distributing it to other sites, you stake a claim to your article, and prevent those spiders from penalizing it for duplication.  Also, when the spider picks up your article during a search, if the article is posted on your website, it will lead the reader straight to your site circumventing the round-about route.

Embed those keywords and keyword phrases

Using appropriate keywords and keyword phrases throughout your article while maintaining optimum keyword density, is critical. Proper keywords used correctly helps spiders index your website and leverages your search engine optimization. It is important to remember that proper usage of keywords and keyword phrases is critical. Keywords that are randomly placed throughout the article, known as keyword stuffing, will only help get your article disqualified and penalized by search engines. And if your article that is unintelligently keyword stuffed, does get past the search engines, your site visitors will be none too impressed with the quality of your articles and will almost certainly turn away. Once this happens, it is almost impossible to lure them back again.

Increase your link popularity

Spiders determine the popularity and relevancy of your website by the quality and quantity of inbound hyperlinks from other websites to yours. Include an "About the Author" section with a link to your website in every author resource box at the end of your article. It is obligatory for other websites to include this section if they decide to publish your article on their site. This in itself will guarantee you unlimited free publicity. If your article is informative and interesting, and is placed on several sites, you would automatically get plenty of links pointing back to your site. This is guaranteed to catch the eye of the spider and increase your search engine ranking.

Maximize your exposure through article distribution sites

By submitting your articles to large distributions sites such as GoArticles.com or eZine.com you increase the chances of your article being repurposed by other webmasters who are continuously seeking quality content. This can have a kind of viral effect and send a continuous stream of significant traffic towards the direction of your articles.

Persistence pays

Writing just one article, no matter how good, is not enough to get you the desired results. Catching the eye of the spider takes time. To reap the benefits of article marketing requires time and patience as well as the unswerving commitment to generate and disseminate good quality articles consistently. This is what will create a valuable footprint in your field of expertise and help increase the number of back-links to your site.

Maintain that word count

Most websites will only accept and distribute articles that meet their specified article requirements with regard to minimum and maximum length. As a rule, articles should be no more than 500 words and no less than 300 words.

Starts by writing an article. This can be done by yourself or you can hire a ghost writer. The cost of  ghost written articles is usually less than $10.00 for a 300 to 500 word article. It is important that the article be informative and related to your niche. The article should not sound like a sales letter.

At the end of the article, you include your 'resource box.' A resource box is simply information about the author, and it usually includes a link to the authors related website, a link to subscribe to a newsletter, and possibly even an email address to contact the author. If your article is ghost written, you are still the author.

Underneath the resource box, you type a statement giving others the right to reprint the article for free, as long as they don't change it and keep your resource box attached.  This allows others to help make your article viral.

Once the article is written, you should distribute it to as many article directories as you can find. It helps to also send the article to ezine publishers within your niche for consideration. You can find lists of ezines in the various ezine directories that are available on the Internet.

There is article-submission software that can be used to speed up submitting your article in. One example of this type of software is Instant Article Submitter  . There are also services that will manually submit your article to directories. This is highly recommended because many article directories do not allow and will not accept articles submitted with software. One such recommended article submission service is We Submit Articles at:

Submitting the articles yourself is a time consuming task. If you can hire someone else to do that work, you will have more time overall to concentrate your efforts on other marketing tasks, including  producing more articles.

Putting everything in perspective, grouping a bunch of words to make up a sensible article or content to be viewed by millions of people over the web has somewhat deteriorated, mostly because people are after revenue rather than knowledge. This has been the practice that has governed a large part of the money making practices that people can expect when they are able to share with other people the gathered information and knowledge that they have accumulated for the past couple of years.

Blogging and content writing has become evidently in demand, but the true sensible things for topics up for consideration that will aid most information hungry people has been totally forgotten. Driving traffic, the proper selection of keywords that people will type in their search engine browsers such as Google and Yahoo, has become the main concern for most Internet accessing individuals. In one of the newsletters that were sent to me regarding Search Engine Optimization, one thing struck me the most that of which is repetition in lieu of content sensibility. It doesn't need to be expounded on, because true enough, this has been the common thing that most people have been doing nowadays, placing a ridiculous amount of similar words in a written article just to come out once a search query from search engines are done.

Blogging as well has become totally bearing no information as well. For one thing, blogs are totally unknown to most people, especially the ones who do not know what this is. For the Internet exposed people, this is similar to making written compositions or article that can cover certain topics or shared experiences by professionals. Some people, who are totally clueless, will not look forward to checking out blogs as well, for the reason that it sounds like something that was made up. For the people who love to investigate and satisfy their curiosity, blogs are something they would consider as a synonym towards article or content writing, freestyle most of the time, allowing people to fully express personal opinions paired with some research on information sites over the World Wide Web. Plagiarism is of course on thing that should be practiced, that of which is avoiding reproducing a certain content, photo or video made by someone. Violating copyrights is the best way to summarize what plagiarism is all about, soliciting the credit in place of the original people who actually poured all their hard work. Although the original content can be used as a reference material, giving due recognition and respect to the original author and creator can totally negate and rule out plagiarism practices.

Content writing on the other hand, is totally putting together what a person knows, stemming from research and experiences. The beauty and essence of effective content writing helps websites, companies and individual branding in a sense, spreading out proper information connected among them. Getting it all together for the proper deliberation of needed information that will definitely be needed by most knowledge seeking individuals, mostly students and business professionals, is something that should be immediately considered.

Hence, article or content writing and blogging is something more than just an adsense trap to generate revenue. A nonsense article will surely be something that people would not waste time reading or referring to. If there is a glitch that Google may have overlooked, it all boils down to quality content from articles done. Most of the time, it requires manual intervention from the groups which use content writing and blogging as their main field of business. However, given time, it will not be surprising when one day, Google or any other SEO Optimizing affiliates and sites will add content quality as among the key aspects of quality made articles in quality handled websites.

By now you certainly have had someone tell you that article marketing is a great way to promote your new website. But what are article directories looking for to approve the publication of your articles?

As the owner of two article directories ( Links are in the footer ) I can tell you what I'm looking for when I review the articles submitted to my article directories.

First of all, please be sure you are submitting original content that you OWN. It's perfectly fine to employ a ghost writer , but make sure that when you pay someone to write your articles that they are unique and that you own complete copyright to the article. If they are selling the same article to hundreds of people I do not want it submitted to my article directories.

ORIGINAL is the keyword that you should place in the front of your mind. There are tons of sites and pieces of software out there today that are scraping content and then using word replacement on someone else's article. Let me be clear about this. It is plagiarism. It is STEALING. Any good copyright lawyer is going to sue you and win if you use these methods to generate articles.

You must actually produce original content to be successful in article marketing. Period.

Another big no-no in my book is 'cut and paste' articles. Do not submit articles that are simply cut and pasted from some other source. I get submissions all the time that are obviously taken from wiki sites, dictionaries, and professional glossaries, and these articles are denied immediately. Every single day someone submits an article to me that contains a 'glossary of terms' for a certain subject. Give me a break. Please submit an actual article.

Once again, produce and submit original content. Period.

Don't try to be sneaky with your articles. This includes writing articles titled 'My article, Part 7' , in the hopes that the surfer will come to your site looking for the rest of the story. I now delete all 'series' titled articles unless the entire series has been submitted to me all at once. I even CREATED a special category for series articles.

Your title is important. Just like a newspaper headline, you are trying to quickly grab the reader's attention. Be short and concise. Be sensational! Be creative! If you have a mile long boring paragraph for a title like "The Technical Wording Of Router Design As Designated By Cisco In Their Corporate Interoffice Memorandum Circa September 2004' or some other long gibberish, I'm going to delete it. Title your article with something that is going to actually get them to read it. They actually have to read the article for your link back to drive traffic to your site. Plus, other webmasters are not going to reprint your article if you don't keep it short and sweet.

There's much, much more that you can consider when marketing your articles, but these are the basics. If you would like to learn more about ethical article marketing I have setup a forum where webmasters are discussing article marketing and more. You are more than welcome to join up and jump right

In closing, if you get anything at all from this article, please let it be ethics. Anything you do in business should be moral and ethical. It's you that has to face yourself in the mirror each morning. It's you that has to look your children in the eye. Unethical marketing of any type may pay off in the short term, but will eventually kill your online business in the long run. Stay ethical and create original promotional content. It will take you to the top.

Till next time,
